Youth Design Center Is a Gold Winner of The 2nd Annual Anthem Awards.

[BROOKLYN, New York] – [March 2, 2023] - Youth Design Center has won a Gold Award for Community Engagement in Diversity Equity and Inclusion from the Anthem Awards. The award goes to networks, programs, or organizations that unite individuals for activities or gatherings on behalf of a Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion cause. On Monday, February 27th, Youth Design Center staff members attended the 2nd Annual Anthem Award's Winners' Celebration in NYC, where Program Director, Brittany Bellinger, attended on behalf of our Executive Director Quardean Lewis-Allen, alongside staff and alums. 

"It was an honor attending the 2nd Annual Anthem Awards and being amongst such notable individuals and organizations that share the same passion for social impact and DEI work to better their communities," said Brittany Bellinger, Program Director of Youth Design Center. "It was also a full circle moment to be in attendance with one of our Board Members and Alumni, Darian Dawkins, who was there to celebrate Youth Design Center and Comic Relief, one of our major donors." 

The 2nd Annual competition received nearly 2,000 entries from 43 countries worldwide. The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences selects Anthem Winners. Members include Nicholas Thompson, CEO of The Atlantic; Zarna Surti, Global Creative Director of Nike Purpose; Jennifer Lotito, President & Chief Operating Officer of (RED); Emily Barfoot, Global Brand Director of Dove; Trovon Williams, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the NAACP; Shayla Tait, Director of Philanthropy for The Oprah Winfrey Charitable Foundation, and more. A portion of program revenue will fund a new grant program supporting emerging individuals and organizations working to advance the causes recognized in the 2nd Annual Anthem Awards. The Youth Design Center is honored to have received one of the most prestigious awards in social impact change.

From the war in Ukraine to protests in Iran and the ongoing battle for equality here at home in the States, the call for change perseveres and is a growing global chorus."
