\Together We Thrive
In October 2020, the Youth Design Center (YDC) collaborated with Hester Street and United Way to develop the brand identity for the Together We Thrive: Black Business Network, a coalition dedicated to providing Black-owned businesses with access to capital, networks, and technical assistance to ensure their survival and sustainability.
The challenge was to create a professional and culturally resonant brand that would appeal to the target audience. YDC, in partnership with designer Ana Frink, addressed this by crafting a polished and supportive brand identity, including the development of a website and social media graphics. Central to the branding was the incorporation of the Adinkra symbol "Boa Me Na Me Mmoa Wo," representing collaboration and interdependence, which was utilized in the logo and various branding assets.
This initiative underscores YDC's commitment to empowering Black-owned businesses through thoughtful design and strategic branding, reinforcing the organization's role in fostering economic equity and community support.
Challenge
Create a Brand Identity that met the client's needs of professional, and cultured branding while being attractive to their target audience.
The Solution
YDC and Ana Frink built the brand identity, website, and social media graphics to communicate the brand identity of a polished, supportive, and trustworthy organization.
We used Boa Me Na Me Mmoa Wo - the Adinkra Symbol of collaboration and interdependence towards a greater good as the icon of the brand that is utilized in the logo and other various branding assets.
